We are dedicated to playing a part in building a more equitable public health consulting market that will be a key driver in the locally led development agenda. We have invested $82,000 of our own resources over the past 3 years in support of this commitment to launch PowerUp: a coalition of influential partners that catalyzes a shift in power dynamics to disrupt the public health consulting labor market in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), such that African public health solutions are increasingly driven by Africans.

Family Health Services: Strategy Development

Family Health Services Malawi (FHS), previously known as Population Services International (PSI) Malawi, recently collaborated with Impact for Health (IHI) to formulate its inaugural Strategic Plan as an independent organization. This process involved a thorough examination of FHS's renewed role within the actor ecosystem, particularly in relation to PSI.
In an effort to comprehend the potential roles of partner international NGOs (INGOs) in supporting national NGOs (NNGOs) in locally-led development, we conducted a rapid desk review. This review explored both current and ideal dynamics between INGOs and NNGOs, culminating in the development of an illustrative value proposition outlining the roles and offerings that INGOs should embody.
